Valentine's Day and Jobs

Since we got engaged (six years ago) on Valentine's Day, we usually try to make that day special every year. This year just seemed insane and we even thought about postponing our plans.

Jesse had a crazy busy week with meeting after meeting for a job, school stuff and work stuff. Jesse interviewed with Microsoft this past week. We won't know the outcome of the results for a couple more weeks. It would be really exciting for him to get a job with them, but we'll see. We (mostly at my request) are looking for a new job for Jesse after he graduates. His current job doesn't offer health insurance and for me personally, I'd feel more comfortable having health insurance. I had to have a C.T. scan right before Christmas this past year and since I didn't have insurance to cover the scan we had to pay over $1000 out-of-pocket. I REALLY don't want to have to deal with something like that again. Who knows where we'll end up, we just know that we'll go where Heavenly Father wants us to go. That same week I also had a six-page paper due and it took me the whole week to do it.

This year for Valentine's Day, we set a budget and I immediately went out and bought Jesse a game that he mentioned a while back that he wanted. Each year we take turns planning something to do and this year it was Jesse's turn. He was so busy with meetings that he didn't have time to really plan anything. He decided that he'd make dinner at home and we'd watch some movies. So, on Saturday we finally made it to the store to buy stuff to make dinner. I REALLY love crab legs, so we got that and lobster tails. To go with it, he made a yummy spinach and strawberry salad and pesto bread. I decided to make chocolate fondue for dessert. BEST DESSERT EVER (we had pears, strawberries, cinnamon bears, angel food cake and pretzels to go with it). It was the yummiest meal EVER!!! Jesse went a little over budget for me and got me a diamond necklace. I knew he was going to get me jewelry, but thought he'd get a pair of $25 earrings. I LOVE my new necklace!!!

Lilly has decided recently to be a silly girl 24/7. She likes to sings songs and purposefully say the wrong words to the songs. I'm pretty sure Jesse had a hand in this, since he taught her that (in the song "I am a child of God") to sing "parents kind of weird" instead of "parents kind and dear". We're counting down the days until her 3rd birthday (47 more days). We're going to surprise her with a big girl bedroom. I'm really sick of the Disney Princess room already. I want either a plain princess room or a ladybug room. We've also warned her that the "binky monster" is coming on her birthday. Should be interesting taking them away from her. She's also requested a Hello Kitty cake instead of princess, we'll see though since it changes all the time.

I love the lady bug idea! Yellow, red and black rooms for girls are soooo cute!
I cannot believe how fast that little girl is growing up! It seems like the years are flying by!
