Did....Did she just say that?

Our lovely, almost 3 year old, said one of THE most shocking things tonight. I'm won't repeat what she said, I'll just say the first two letters are "bu" and the word ends with "hole". She kept saying it over and over again. At first I thought it was the binky that made it sound like she was saying that word. Jesse walked in the room and took out the binky and asked her what she said and clear as day she said it. In our shock we started trying to figure out where she had heard that word. Jesse and I NEVER say that word and honestly the last time that word came out of my mouth was when I was a bratty teenager. So where did she learn it? T.V.? Well, her shows consist of Imagination Movers, Miss Spider and occasionally Spongebob. So I know she's not learning that word from those shows. The only other person she's been around this week is Aurora and I KNOW Aurora wouldn't be saying anything naughty like that. So I'm puzzled. Please tell me that I'm not the only one here that has a child say a naughty word and be clueless as to where they were taught it?!

You should be happy that is the worst word she has said. A couple summers ago there were these rowdy wild boys who lived next door and would say every word in the book. Well, my friend Whit and I let our kids play in my backyard and they overheard some very naughty things! We then went to the store and our two kids got in a tiff and started calling each other the f word! Lovely, right? I felt like mother of the year! The store clerk gave us the nastiest scowls. Thankfully we haven't heard them say that word since, but those boys no longer live next door!

Sadly sometimes you don't know where it came from. I on the other hand know exactly where Olivia's comes from. 5 older siblings are not very helpful sometimes!

Don't worry that is nothing. Just wait until you and Edith are at Article Circle and your cute little Terell starts to rhyme words. You can use your imagination and rhyme duck with an F. That is correct it happened more than once and he had no idea. You just smile, have a little talk and move on. Love, Kari
