Today I am 12 weeks and 5 days. I will warn you now that there will rarely be pictures of me on this blog. I'm fat and the whole world doesn't need to see me get even more huge in the next 6 months. Sorry! We had our first prenatal visit today. We took Lilly with us because she really wanted to hear the baby's heartbeat. Unfortunately the midwife couldn't find the baby's heartbeat with the Doppler machine, so they had to do an ultrasound. She found the baby moving around and the heart beating like it should. I totally forgot, but this is the same thing that happened with our first appointment with Lilly. We're excited and relieved that this baby is growing like it should!!!
This pregnancy is different from Lilly's because we don't have maternity coverage this time around. We make too much to qualify for any aid, but it's fine, we can definetly manage paying for it all out of pocket. It's actually working out to be cheaper than we had planned, because the midwives at least give us a 30% discount if we are paid up in full when the baby is born, which means we save over $1000. They told us that the hospitals will do the same. I'm grateful that Jesse at least has a job right now!!!
I had a nice week-long break from morning sickness. Got some much needed cleaning done around the house. Unfortunately it has returned. I apologize to Jesse every day. He's having to pick up more slack than normal lately. I hope the sickness goes away soon so we can return to our normal life!!!
Lilly just celebrated her 4th birthday. Four years, still can't believe she's that old. We decided not to have a party this year because I wasn't quite sure I'd be up to it. We took her to Toys R Us and let her spend the money that Great Grandma Kane and Grandpa Quarter sent her. We also took her to Texas Roadhouse so that she could climb up on the "cowgirl seat" and let them sing to her. She's such a sweet little girl and I can't imagine our life without her.

Very exciting stuff happening at your house! Isn't being a mommy great?!?! I cannot wait to see this baby, I just wish we were planning a trip to Utah in October. We will be there the first 2 weeks in September so we will definitely have to get together. Good luck friend!!
I love you Karina, just hang in there. I look back and can't believe I did that 6 times, but it is now a distant memory (one I don't wish to repeat) but worth every minute. Remember this too shall pass
Congratulations on the new little one on the way :) can't wait to hear more :)
