Having a baby sure made me put off doing things for Christmas. I just sent off our cards yesterday. Enough said!!! We did get our Christmas decorations up right after Thanksgiving, which was fun! I love having a bigger place to put stuff and decorate.
This year for Christmas we decided to start telling Lilly that Santa only brings her one present and we will buy her some. I should have made sure I could find the present she wanted Santa to bring her first! She REALLY wanted this Squirtle (from Pokemon) stuffed pillow from Target. We saw it in the summer, but told her to wait for Christmas. To our bad luck Toy Story 3 came out over the summer and Target replaced the Pokemon bedding with Toy Story bedding. Found one on eBay but they wanted $50. So two days before Christmas I had to talk her into asking Santa for another toy she had been eying all Fall (an Olivia house/pirate ship). So two days before Christmas I emailed Santa for her. She got lots of fun presents and really enjoyed her break from preschool. Speaking of preschool, Lilly has started reading. She was sent home with a book from preschool before the break. She is starting to comprehend blending the sounds of the letters to form words. EXCITING!!!
Jackson is growing like crazy. Overall he's been a really good baby. The past few days he has been more attached to me. He doesn't like being put down. It's been a little overwhelming to go from a baby that will entertain himself or fall asleep when I put him down to screaming if I dare put him down. My saving grace though has been our baby swing. I can at least put him down in that while I clean or need a break.
A week before Christmas Jesse was notified that his contract at his job was ending on the 28th. I know that the Lord was watching out for us! Jesse actually had two interviews lined up before he found out about his contract expiring. He had an interview with HP and BidSync. He ended up getting the job at BidSync within a few days of interviewing with them as an employee with salary and benefits! We didn't even really have to take a pay cut either. He started on the 28th of December and he loves his job so much that he comes home and can't wait to go back! AND he works in American Fork which is only a 10-15 minute drive from our house.
We did get some pictures taken for Christmas:

Here's to hoping that 2011 is as great as 2010!!!
