For those of you who've read our "October Happenings" know that Lilly has a new friend. Well her mom and I have become somewhat friends I guess you can say. She's going through a tough divorce right now and has two little ones (ages 2 and 2 months). This morning as I was trying to figure out what to make for dinner. I settled on Spinach Manicotti. I ALWAYS end up with way too much manicotti whenever I make this meal. As I was pondering that notion, I had the impression to make the normal amount and take some up to my neighbor. I was also making a caesar salad and had some french bread to go along with it.
As I approached the door to my neighbors house I saw her old neighbor from Y-Mount and our Relief Society president inside. I really didn't think much of it. I came inside and told her that I had brought her dinner. She then proceeded to tell me that she had gotten really sick the last couple of days and had spent the whole morning in urgent care. She has mono and a REALLY bad kidney infection. The kidney infection was so bad that her kidney and liver were on the verge of shutting down. She has to go tomorrow to get some more medicine and follow-up. I felt so bad for her when she told me this. I've had kidney infections before, but never as bad as she was explaining it and to have to be basically all alone (she's from Holland and all her family lives over there).
After spending some time with her and scheduling to take Aurora tomorrow for the day, I came home and realized how neat it was that I had been having the impression all day to make them a meal and go check in on her. It goes to show how important impressions are. I've had impressions like that before, but I always let life get in the way of following through on them.

That is a great story. Thank you for sharing. It is amazing how the spirit will guide us if we stay on the right path and listen to the promptings. Thank you for your example.
Karina, you are a Relief Society President's dream! I'm sure the RS Pres was very relieved that you showed up and took such steps to help your neighbor. That was really nice of you.
Just keep listening. I Love You. Thanks for your great example.
Love Shari
