October Happenings

I can't believe I haven't posted anything in almost a month. We have been super busy with school.

Lilly has made a new friend. We finally had someone move next to us that has a little girl her age. Her name is Aurora, but since Lilly LOVES Sleeping Beauty, she calls her Princess Aurora. It's so cute to watch them play together. I watch Aurora one day a week for a couple hours so her mom can go to her meeting and then once a week she takes Lilly for a couple hours so that I can work on my homework. It's a really nice trade-off. Lilly has also gotten to be quite the talker lately. She still loves to sing. When we're in the car we have the Primary songs on and she sings along with just about all of them. She is fascinated with Halloween this year. For a couple days at the beginning of the month, she kept asking if it was Halloween yet. She is still undecided what she wants to be this year. One day it's a princess and the next a pirate (she also loves Captain Hook). I think we'll wait until the week before and get her a costume then.

Jesse is still loving his classes this semester. Well, maybe not his STAT class. He has been able to stay on track this semester, for which I am proud of him! He still loves his job. In fact, he just got a nice raise. He is thinking of possibly staying at BYU to get a Master's. We'll see though. So far this semester Jesse has played the Wii once or twice. Shock, I know! He's so determined to stay focused.

This semester for me has been different. I have a class that I didn't know was Honors Ethics when I signed up for it, but have decided to tough it out because that's the only time I had available to take it. My History class is a joke. This professor does nothing to keep us entertained. He reiterates what we've already read and then dismisses us an hour and a half early. For a couple weeks I was constantly getting sick. It started with heartburn that turned into REALLY bad heartburn. One morning I woke up with chest pains and upper breast tenderness and my pulse was fast. I went to the doctor and he did an EKG, but didn't find anything abnormal. He prescribed me some powerful heartburn medicine and wanted me to come back in if the pain didn't go away or got worse. Over the weekend the heartburn went away, but I was still experiencing the tenderness and I started feeling light-headed. I went back in on Monday and he gave me a chest x-ray, but everything looked normal. (I had something similar to this happen in July) He was pretty sure that my hormone fluctuations were causing the tenderness and the pains were most likely caused by the really bad heartburn. Sure enough, after some rest and some more medicine I was feeling like myself again. Then a week later I ended up back in the doctors office because I had a kidney infection sneak up on me without any warning. I felt so bad going to the doctor so many times, but I guess that's what they're for and I'm so fortunate to have such an awesome doctor. Speaking of which, I have to go again this Friday for a checkup. Ha! That's funny. I'll have been there four times in one month.

That's basically how our last month has been. I will post some pictures soon of our new floor, curtains and of course our Halloween decorations.
