Jesse's Not So Fun Past Few Days

Last week Jesse came home from work complaining about his mouth being chapped. He had stopped by the store and picked up some chapstick to help. A few days later the corners of his mouth were crusting over and cracking open, then one morning he woke up with what looked like a rash forming on his nose. We both initially thought it could be shingles, but ruled that out because he didn't have any pain associated with it. The next day the rash started spreading to his cheeks, chin and under his left eye. He went to the doctor at BYU and was told he was having an allergic reaction to something. He skipped work that day because his face was so itchy and uncomfortable. That night the rash spread and covered almost his whole face and he only got 2 hours of sleep because he was so uncomfortable. The next morning he went back to the clinic and saw another doctor who ordered blood work and determined that he was indeed having an allergic reaction. He has been put on a higher dosage of allergy medicine and was given cream to help the rash go away. His blood is also being tested for other things. I felt so bad for him. The swelling and rash have subsided a little so hopefully in the next couple days he'll start feeling normal again. We think the cause of this was from a fresh mango he ate last week.

How many times has he eaten mango? The first time he ate one it might not have triggered the rash, but with each time he eats one it could make it worse. Does that make sense? Anyway, no more mango for him!

Oh, and I feel so bad for you, Jesse! But you still have a smile on your face. Keep putting that cream on and taking the meds, ok? Love, Mom xoxoxoxoxoxo

That is EXACTLY what happened to Jase. Although it wasn't from EATING the mangoes...it was from touching the mangoes. Mango Sap causes jase to rash out, where-ever it touches him. So if he touched sap, then his face....you would never know....and then BOOM!! rashy face. Tell Jesse sorry, we understand the pain.
